Ceiling Fan

Nice or Not??? From Panasonic. 5 plastic blades with LCD Remote Control. Is plastic blades safer in case the ceiling fan goes crazy wanna chop our heads off?

Booking had been made

I made a quick move by making the booking last nite. Yes...at nite. Salespersons nowadays are working freakin' hard. I paid RM500 for the booking and handed the necessary documents to Anthony. I simply put Silver/Gold as my choice of colours. Let until the loan approved then only think about it seriously. My bank account will be totally dried up this time. Real dry this time. Like a draught landed. Big Bro teased by saying that I'm just like a rich woman. Buying assets in a very short time span. It's not that I'm rich. It's just it happened that I need this 2 assets now and luckily Dad is able to provide the sponsorships. Big Bro added, I even booked a car without having any test-drive. Is that a problem? Is there anyone who didn't test drive before buying a car? I would like to test drive but I don't have the time. I am only available during weekends. So I simply 'tembak' loh. Let everything be in God's hand. HE will guide me through.
So, now I'm waiting for calls from bank, if any. Whether they need guarantor or any extra documents to prove that I am capable of paying back the debt. The truth is with my current debt in hand, I am not capable of paying the car installments. Luckily, someone promised to co-pay the installment. Nyek Nyek Nyek....But then, I still need to 'ikat perut', live on a tight budget with my meagre salary. Hope that I can get through tough times like this. Just keep my fingers crossed.

Curtains

I have been spending some time surfing the Internet for beautiful curtains that suit my taste. Still the same motto, "Simple is Beauty". Is it appropriate to buy online???

p/s: I'm wondering if my apple green wall still applicable. Shall I change to earth tone??? Seems that earth tone is much more easier to match. By the way, sample pics shown in this blog are just some nice stuffs that I like and find it blogable. Besides that, they help by giving me inspirations on my new home.

Dining Table

Round Dining Table like the above picture is ideal for me. Simple and yet elegant. I don't like over decorated item. I am wondering whether it's tough enough for every use. How if I pair this dining table with chairs like below?

Kitchen Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets can be very expensive. We may not be able to afford 1 set right now. I guess getting standalone kitchen tables may be sufficient currently. However, I saw in IKEA catalogue this whole set of white color kitchen cabinets & interior fittings & worktops & hinges which cost slightly less than RM1500. It's a very simple set of kitchen cabinet. That is what I have always wanted! Simple yet nice! If next year IKEA still have such low price kitchen sets, I will consider getting it for my kitchen. I supposed the price includes the installation. Besides that IKEA gives 10 years warranty. I would love to have my kitchen in white color. I have soft spots for white. I am planning to place my gas hobs and hood and do my heavy cooking at the yard. Shall I have the kitchen cabinet installed at the yard as well or just get a decent kitchen tables for it? Hai~~~Should go for window shopping more often to collect ideas on this. Will I need put place another gas hobs in the kitchen for light cooking? I definitely need sinks in both the dry kitchen and the yard. The best is to have 2 sinks+2taps at the yard side and 1 sink+1tap at the dry kitchen side.

A hard decision to make

I am going to move to another new workplace which is not very convenient. I need to inter-change train. One of the commuter services is not punctual. So it may cause me to late to work. I have been thinking of getting a car. Dad prefers me to buy new car as it's safer. Dad offered to pay the down payment. Yes...I definitely needs his sponsorship which at the same time makes me feel so useless. With limited budget, I guess I have either a Malaysia or Korea made car. TY doesn't agree to get an Atos cause we don't now the maintenance will cost a bomb or not. Thus we are left with 1 choice which is our nation's beloved Perodua. Perodua is undeniably a good buy for its proven fuel saving engine. Now that Perodua has launched the new Viva model, I have headache. Myvi or Viva??? TY doesn't agree to buy Viva. It's too small. But to me, it's cheaper. But..I also worry that I may regret later if I need a bigger car in future. I am still indecisive. If not that TY agreed to co-sponsor the monthly installment, I definitely cannot afford it. During this time, I blamed myself for only earning that few pennies. Again, I felt useless. Shall I go for a test drive before making the booking?????

Dining Table

I grown up having dinner at a round dining table. Rectangular tables look very appealing but to me,but its not very convenient. Food may need to be spread on a rectangular table like a buffet dinner. One on this side may not be able to reach the food on the other side. It may end up having to split 1 meal into 2 dishes. If I have maid to wash the dishes, then it should be okay. But I don't have. So I guess I shall check around for medium-sized stylish round table. Will glass table be reliable?

Fridge and Washing Machine

I have been eyeing on this 350Litre LG Fridge which costs around RM1450. Its a very simple 2-door fridge which I find it very suitable for us. It won't be too big or too small. Just adequate for our consumption. Many hypermarkets and electrical appliances outlets have this 0% installment scheme. I guess we would be 1 of the customer who will swipe our credit card to bring the fridge home and later on pay the installments faithfully. I guess 6 months is will be alright. Washing machine is a must. I am not very sure about the type of washing machine that we need. Is 6.5kg sufficient? Or 7kg? A fully-automated machine is what we are looking for. I haven't decide on the brand. How about LG? I guess we should set our budget for the washing machine to anything lower than RM800. Should go to outlets other than hypermarkets to check out the price. Will there be any difference?

Ceiling Fan

I have been checking on the price of ceiling fans lately. I checked the KDK brand. It costs RM269 per set. It will burn a hole in my wallet if I were to install 6 sets in my house. Carol who just moved into her new house pointed out that her set of ceiling fan cost only around RM120. Not bad... If we can afford it, I plan to have all 4 bedrooms intalled with 1 unit of remote-controlled ceiling fan. And another 2 units for my living room cum dining corner. Eric said he would give a ceiling fan unit as gift for us. Hahaha!! Thank u! Hope you won't forget your promise. I guess we will opt for the silver metal type color. Modern and simple. 1 thing not sure is how to have the unit installed. Can DIY? Should ask dad about this. Might as well fly dad over together with his tools to help us!

Sofa

Sofa is a very important item in the furniture list. There are leather seats, cottony slipcover seats and etc. I don't necessary need the whole 3+2+1 sets. Previously I fancied the LShape type of sofa. It seems very comfortable to me. But my core criteria for a non-leather seats is it must be a slipcover type. I want it to be washable. If possible, I would like to avoid anything leather or leather-like material. For me, it's not as comfortable as cottony cover because my feet have a weird habit of liking to brush on cloth thingy. So anything rough is a no-no for me. I was thinking of having a mix&match sofa sets as it adds more color combination to my living room. It would appear more lively. I may get a 3 seats sofa, either LShape or non-LShape. Then another 1 or 2 units of 1-seat sofa or lazy chairs. I don't have any particular sofa designs in mind right now. Might as well go get some home design magazine for ideas.

Curtain

Curtain is another item that I have been paying attention to. There are either ready-made or custom-made curtains available in the market now. It has been very easy as we can actually DIY. Just buy the rod supporter, curtain rods with finials and ready-made curtain. All you need is an electric driller and a handyman. Screw the supporter nicely at the pre-marked spot. Hang your curtains onto the curtain rods and put onto the supporter. ta deng~~~ Mission completed. Curtain rod itself comes in many different color and style. Some come with dual rods which are meant for dual layer curtain. This is the type of curtain that I have always wanted for my home. I don't mind the laundry part. Just dump into the washing machine. How much effort does it need? Modern curtains nowadays are a bit different from the traditional type where we need to put on the metal thingy that looks like a fork onto the slim pockets sewed along the curtain. Then we are to hang the hook of the metal thingy unto the rails of rings on the metal curtain rod. Then you can slide your curtain smoothly. For some modern curtains, they are sewn with an extra piece of cloth which are meant to be put onto the curtain rod. You can hardly slide your curtain with this design. Some plastic curtain rod does come with plastic rings for you to hang your curtains. I haven't come up with any preferable design or theme colour. Of coz, it must match my apple green home.

Eyeing on Furnitures

Ever since we have the SPA signed, I started looking around for furnitures. I checked on the styles, the price and tried to come out with a rough budget for every piece of furnitures that I may need in future. Every now and then I flipped the IKEA catalogue for ideas and also advertisements in the papers for promotions and offers available. With these simple market survey, I may more or less get myself updated with the pricing of each items. By monitoring the advertisements, I got to know each item of furnitures' lowest price being offered. Then I may buy the item only when it's at its best bargain value. Someone told me that I can get certain item at very good price at Nilai 3 ie carpets and chests. Can't wait to pest TY to bring me to Nilai 3 for window shopping. But still, I haven't decided on the theme.

Theme Colour

All this while, I have no idea of what colour shall my home's walls carry. I always tell people that my right brain is damaged as I am totally clueless about art and creativity. Unlike other people who definitely know what they want for their home, I have no idea at all.
Few days ago, a light bulb suddenly alighted from somewhere. It was actually I walked past this home which had its wall painted pink, a bit solid pink. Then, my mind started to crawl to my own home. I imagine painting my own wall pink - No way...too girlish. Then I imagine painting my wall light blue - No way....too boyish and too ordinary. Then I imagine painting it apple green, very light apple green - Yes.....its neutral and natural and green is good for eyes. So I told TY about my idea and he agreed. Ai....whatever not very bad he also agree gelah. Pointless asking his opinion also. If I suggest to paint our home "ap shi cheng" (duck sh*t green), then he may have some opinion geh...
OK....right now I shall search for this light apple green colour and think of what other furniture that can match this theme. Shall I come up with a theme for my house decoration like classic, oriental, bali and etc....?

Our home, Our nest

TY and I bought a new house in Jan 2007. It is estimated to be completed by the end of this year and most probably we can get the key early 2008. Coincidently, our unit is A20-08. So easy to remember. Since both of us are very young, thus we don't have much savings. We paid the 10% down payment with the sponsorship from parents. We didn't think much about budget for renovations or furnitures. All we want is a house to be our home. Both of us have been living away from home for nearly 6 years. We think that we have had enough of renting of rooms. Renting a room will never make the house your home. Some may feel that it's not a very wise decision to get yourself in a 30-year debt at an early age. But our thinking is, houses are getting expensive day by day and saving of more down payment from our fixed salary is almost impossible. I personally feel that the prices of houses hike much more faster than my money-saving rate. We are so looking forward to moving into our new home eventhough the budget for simple renovations and basic furnitures is no where to be seen. Hahaha!!

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Today marks my working life's 2nd annivesary. I'm glad that I survived!!! Yes! I'm a survivor. There is so much to see, so much to learn and so much to explore~~~~I wish to have a smooth sailing experience.

Hello Everyone

This is my second blog. Well.... haven't decided on the blog theme. Most probably it will be anything related to my home.
